Our Story
The idea behind Emergency Data Specialists wasn’t something thought up in a boardroom or at an investment meeting. Instead, our story began as a natural and human response to a terrible crisis. We were operating as a local managed service provider (MSP) when Hurricane Michael hit in 2018.
We immediately jumped into action on the ground to provide all the assistance and support possible. Quickly, it became apparent that there was no shortage of provisions for food, water, and even power. However, we noticed that nearly no businesses had the data resources they needed to continue running.
One of our clients who ran a local pharmacy called our team immediately and requested some data to continue filling prescriptions for people who desperately needed their medications. Within a few hours, he was up and running again with a full business-grade hotspot. The community was able to receive prescriptions without any issues despite the major hurricane.
This event shifted our perspective in a profound way by highlighting the vital importance of data and the lack of options small businesses face when dealing with a disastrous and unavoidable event. We realized that data was the true driving force behind the key operations within a company NOT power.
Our pharmacy client wasn’t just able to carry on with its normal operations, it had the data infrastructure to serve as a relief center for those affected by the storm. They provided water and essential supplies to anyone who needed them. This was the day that Emergency Data Specialists was born.
Now, we’re a full-fledged and highly sought-after data provision specialist helping countless small businesses stay up and running no matter what kind of obstacles they encounter. We continue to be proud members of our local community, and will always do everything in our power to support the small businesses that offer so much to the people who live here.
